Chan Luu was born raised in South Vietnam. In 1972 she left her country and attended Boston University. She then moved to Los Angeles where she enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. In 1996 Chan Luu started to hone her jewelry making skills. She is known best for using semi-precious stones, beads and colored water pearls and combining unusual forms with beautiful colors to create truly striking pieces.

Chan Luu has since broadened her horizons and has moved from the fashion jewelry market to the fine jewelry market, the accessory market, and the clothing market. Chan Luu has taken her love of detail and unusual forms into each of these markets and has created truly, wonderfully, artistic items in each category.
